Laizhou Hongyuan Pliers Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is a joint venture enterprise which is specializing in the production and processing of pliers, wood clamps, F clips, wheels, brake hubs, ductile iron castings and other products. The company has its headquartered at Laizhou, Shandong Province. Laizhou Hongyuan Pliers Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has a complete and scientific quality management system.
The company has a pliers production line and the total capacity of the equipment in this production line is 3500 kW. The reactive power compensation capacitor cabinet which was before was an old type reactive power compensation capacitor cabinet which was produced in the 1970s. As the result, the company had to pay the electricity adjustment charge which was 23000 yuan per month.
The technical personnel of Anhui DELITER Electric Power Science and Technology Co., Ltd carried on a detailed measurementon the pliers production line of Laizhou Hongyuan Pliers Manufacturing Co., Ltd and recorded the data:
The voltage of the system was 10.4kV and the harmonic content in the voltage was about 1.5%.
The 10kV system performed an inductive load operation and the loads in the three phases, i.e. phase A, phase B and phase C, were in a balance basically.
The load current in the pliers production line in the 10kV system contained multiple order harmonics, which were mainly 5 order harmonics and 7 order harmonics, and the content of harmonics was about 8%.
The highest active power of the system was around 2400kW and the highest reactive power was about 1000kvar
Based on an analysis which was carried out on the measurement data as well as the actual conditions on the site, Anhui DELITER Electric Power Science & Technology Co., Ltd decided to mount an additional set of automatic high voltage switching reactive power packet compensation capacitor cabinet with a compensation capacity of 900kvar for the 10kV system of the pliers production line in the 10kV system of Laizhou Hongyuan Pliers Manufacturing Co., Ltd, which was intended to make reactive power compensation for the system. Since the equipment was mounted, under normal operation, the average power factor of the system is above 0.95.
