Shanghai Hangtian Wire Communication Equipment Co., Ltd., which is abbreviated as “Shanghai Wire Communication Equipment Factory”, is an affiliate to The Eighth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (Shanghai Aerospace Technology Research Institute, Shanghai Space Administration). It is a scientific research and production enterprise which is solely owned by the state. This company was formerly known as China Electric Co., Ltd., which was a Sino-US joint venture founded in 1917. After connection to the grid was accomplished, it was found that the active power of the system was reduced and the electricity fee was reduced. However the power factor was too low, and a large amount of electricity adjustment fee occurred in the electricity bill of the company. According to the detailed information contained in the electricity bill of Shanghai Hangtian Wire Communication Equipment Co., Ltd., which has been provided by the power supply bureau, as well as the 24 hour uninterrupted measurement on the site, the data have been analyzed and sorted out. Therefore, it can be seen that when a large amount of photovoltaic reverse reactive power (Q2) is returned into the system and the photovoltaic power generation system is feeding the electricity to the power grid, this will result in the decrease in the power supply (in this case, it refers to the positive active power P). Combined with (Formula 1), it can be concluded that, as the numerator goes down and the denominator goes up, cosθ will inevitably decrease. This did not meet the assessment criterion set by the power supply bureau and resulted in the electricity adjustment fine being charged by the power supply bureau.
Therefore, in view of the actual conditions on this site, the technical personnel of Anhui DELITER Electric Power Science & Technology Co., Ltd have done a lot of investigations, statistics and records. Then a scientific and effective reactive power compensation capacitor cabinet scheme was formulate, which was targeted at eliminating the positive reactive power and the negative reactive power in the system. After three consecutive months of operation, at the metering points, it was not found that there was any negative reactive power being returned into the system. In addition, the power factor was above 0.95, or even up to 0.99.
