The switching on and switching off of the power capacitors determines the compensation and adjustment for the switching of the capacitor banks under different load conditions. The purpose of this is achieve the means for controlling the compensation for the reactive power and improving the power factor. Therefore, a reasonable and effective switching mode of the capacitor has the function of compensation and optimization. Most of the capacitor banks adopt the "sequential switching" mode. This mode may reduce the service life of the capacitor. The reasonable switching mode should be the "cyclic switching" mode. In this mode, it is possible to cause the capacitor bank which has been put into operation at a earlier time to exit at a earlier time, and cause the capacitor bank which has been put into operation at a later time to exit at a later time. In this way, all of the capacitors may be switched on or switched off in an even manner. This has reduced the running time of the capacitors, reduced the number of switching on and switching off and extended the service life.
Once the "cycle switching" mode has been selected, the method for compensating the switching should be selected in a reasonable manner based on different kinds of changes in the load. The following rules should be followed: For the working condition where the  load is large and the changes are fast, the circuit of the electric welding machine and the motor should adopt the dynamic compensation device. With this dynamic compensation device, the energy saving effect is obvious. As to the circuit with a relatively stable load, the static compensation device should be adopted. From the static compensation device to the dynamic compensation device, coupled with the in-depth and continuous research and practical operation of the reactive power low voltage capacitor compensation cabinet technology which has been carried out by our company, the mixed switching mode on the basis of combining the static compensation device and the dynamic compensation device  has become the operation mode of switching on and switching of the capacitors of our new intelligent reactive power low voltage capacitor compensation cabinet.
